The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager = 5⭐️

Who’s ever played two truths & a lie?

Emma, Vivian, Natalie, and Allison used to play it all the time at Camp Nightingale. The games ended though when Emma sleepily watched them sneak out of the cabin with Vivian shushing her on their way out. This was the last time the girls were ever seen. Years later, when Emma is now an up and comer in the art scene – Francesca Harris-White, wealthy owner of the camp drops by Emma’s art show telling her that she is reopening the camp and wants Emma there for its first summer back, as the painting instructor. Emma warily accepts but decides to use this an opportunity to try and find out what really happened that night 15 years ago and what truly happened to the three girls. What she doesn’t expect though is why, when she gets there, it immediately feels clear that something is wrong. She begins sorting through lies from the past, cryptic clues Vivian left behind, and new threats from both man and nature to find out the truth. Oh and I should probably mention her obsession with painting eerie canvases of ghostly images in white dresses in the woods filled with dark leaves and gnarled branches.

This book was incredible!! Sooo twisty. I had no idea the whole time. I had small theories and all proved to be wrong. It was packed with so much too, I couldn’t put it down once I started! It was beautifully written and descriptive enough that I could picture everything perfectly. I definitely recommend this as a great psychological thriller/mystery!
